The Body In The Wall

“The Body in the Wall” is exactly the kind of cozy mystery that scratches the itch for small town secrets, quirky characters, and a FMC you can’t help but root for.

Emelia Sutton (FMC) is capable, curious, and just messy enough to feel real. Her dynamic with the townspeople adds charm and humor, especially as she starts tugging on threads everyone else would prefer she leave alone. The mystery unfolds at a steady pace, giving you just enough clues to stay engaged without ever feeling predictable.

The supporting cast is another highlight. Each character feels distinct, and their interactions give the town a lived in feel. I especially enjoyed the way relationships shift as Emelia gets closer to the truth; it adds emotional texture without overshadowing the mystery.

If I had one critique it would be that a couple of reveals come a bit quickly near the end, not rushed, exactly, but I wouldn’t have minded a little more breathing room. Still, the resolution is satisfying, and the final chapters tie everything together in a way that makes you want to pick up the next book immediately. (Please tell me there’s going to be a next book!)
